Eternal Life Prayer Center
What We Believe
At Eternal Life Prayer Center in Jackson, MS, we affirm that the Bible is alone the only infallible inspired Word of God and that its authority is ultimate, final and eternal.
We believe in both the Old and New Testaments and that neither can be added to, subtracted from, or superseded in any manner. Our center believes the Bible is the source of all doctrine, instruction, correction and reproof. It contains all that is needed for guidance in godliness and practical Christian conduct.

About Our Faith
As a center, we believe in God the Father, the Son Jesus Christ and The Holy Spirit. We believe God is the creator and sustainer of all things and that He created man in His own image for fellowship. God calls man back to Himself through Jesus Christ after the rebellion and fall of man.
We believe Jesus Christ is eternally God and that he was together with the Father and the Holy Spirit from the beginning. He left heaven and became incarnate by the Holy Spirit to the Virgin Mary. The Holy Spirit was sent by God to comfort, instruct and keep the heart of man. He was active in the Old Testament and was given to the center on the day of Pentecost. He empowers the saints for service and witness, cleanses man from the old nature, and conforms us to the image of Jesus Christ.
Christ paid the penalty for the world’s sins when he died on the cross. The only people who receive the benefits of His death are those who receive Jesus as their personal savior. We believe salvation is affected by personal repentance, belief in the Lord Jesus Christ and personal acceptance of Him into one’s life as Lord and Savior.
The Christian Life
We believe that the Scriptures portray the life of the saints in this world to be one of balance between what is imputed to us as Christians and what is imparted to us according to our faith and maturity.
God’s provision for His children is total and the promises are final and forever. Our Christian lives are filled with trials, tests, and warfare against the powers of darkness. If you abide in Christ, the promises of eternal blessing will be fulfilled.
About the Pastor
Evangelist Vera W. Bishop is our full-time pastor. Our center has been operating for the past 2½ years strictly as a prayer center. Under the leadership of the Lord Jesus Christ, our center is now a striving and growing full-time ministry emphasizing the way prayer can change the world.
Since Evangelist Vera has received the call to go into ministry full time, God has been faithful to our center and has added to the ministry weekly. Her heart cry is to see the power that the early church manifested be returned to the believers today. She recognizes that all power was given by the movement of the Holy Ghost in the people of God. She further believes that, “God does not change; if Jesus promised power after the Holy Ghost comes.” – Acts 1:8. “Then that same promise is active in the believers today.” – Acts 2:2-4; Acts 4:31.
Evangelist Vera is a wife and mother of 3 daughters and 1 son and the grandmother of 8 grandchildren. Her husband, Mr. L.S. Bishop, Sr., is a retired schoolteacher of 38 years and a full-time supporter of his wife’s ministry.
She was born in Terry, MS. She attended Perryman Elementary, Sumner Hill High School, Jackson State University and Mississippi College. She is a retired teacher of 28 years. She is an entrepreneur and the CEO of VeLess Accounting and Tax Services, Inc., in Jackson, MS.
Despite her many accomplishments, she says, “The greatest gift anyone has ever given me was the gift of my precious salvation. This salvation has caused me to be a better wife, mother, grandmother, friend and servant. I owe my Father God my everything, and I freely give him my life.”
